Who can join this course?
AlFajr welcomes all those who are eager to learn about Islam and are seeking the right guidance in the light of authentic knowledge from the Quran and Sunnah. No matter what your qualifications are, or what background you come from, you are welcome to join this course.

Are there any pre-requisites?
There are no pre-requisites to this course. You should be able to read, write and understand English.

What is the medium of instruction?
The medium of instruction is English.

Is there any age limit to enroll in this course?
The minimum age limit in this course is 14. Any student below the age of 15 will require special permission and/or undergo a particular test to determine if they are suitably qualified.  Please email info@alfajrinstitute.com with your request.

What are the qualifications of your instructors?
Alhamdulillah we have experienced and qualified people on the Alfajr faculty. For details of our instructors, please visit our Faculty page. All our instructors have:

- Dynamic and enthusiastic speakers.
- Vast previous teaching experience.

I cannot attend the course on campus. What should I do?
For people who cannot travel to the campus, we offer AlFajr Online. The program will be broadcasted live and you will be able to listen and view the entire lecture from your home or school. All you need is internet connection.

I cannot attend the live on-line class due to timing conflicts. Is there any other alternative?
Recorded lectures will be provided to the students who are unable to attend the live class. They will be able to listen to the lectures at a time convenient to them.

Do we have to purchase books for this program?
Suggested readings will be uploaded on the website. If the course requires text books, you will be given an option to buy it either from the institute or online. Separate binders will be provided to the students for each course. Online students will be provided with e-binders. Separate orders must be placed for hard copies.

How can I contact my instructor if I have any questions?
You are welcome to contact your instructor via the AlFajr forums on the Student Portal. All your questions will be directed to the instructor of the course. You will be also assigned a group in-charge who you can contact in case you need help.

How many courses are there in this program?
There are 10 courses in total to be completed over two and half years.

Are there any tests / assignments?
Yes, the students will be required to attempt multiple choice questionnaires at the end of each course.

I am joining the program with a group of friends. Do we get a group discount?
Yes, the regular fee is $150 per semester and people who register in a group of 5 or more get a $25 discount.

Will you be offering advanced courses in future?
Yes, insha’Allah we have plans to conduct advanced courses in the future.

Can international students join this course?
Students from any part of the world are welcome to join this course. However the shipping and handling charges for course materials will vary from country to country.

What is the format of this course?
There are 10 semesters in total. Each semester consists of 12 weeks. The classes are conducted on the weekend on every Saturday and Sunday totalling 24 classes per semester. The timings are 10:30 a.m. till 1:30 p.m.

I don’t want a diploma can I just study some courses I am interested in?
This program is designed to impart sound Islamic knowledge to those who can learn on full time basis. We encourage our students to enroll for the entire course. However, students have the flexibility to apply for selected courses only. You will need to apply for admission like regular students but will need to specify that you are not aiming for a diploma.

Do you offer scholarships?
As AlFajr is a new institute, we are currently not in a position to offer scholarships. However, we do have some sponsorships available where a donor undertakes to pay the fees of deserving students. In case you have difficulty in paying for your courses we also have easy payment plans to suit your requirements. Please contact us at info@alfajrinstitute.com with your particular request.
